Who are we?

Strides to Empowerment opened in 2007, specializing in empowering women. From there, we have branched out in treating substance abuse groups for both adults and adolescents and sobriety court. We have also been successful in helping individuals work through depression, anxiety, trauma and grief and loss issues. Individuals can expect a safe, nonjudgmental,  supportive and confidential environment to work through issues.

 Our therapy uses two techniques, a team approach, consisting of a therapist, a horse specialist and our horses. In using this technique both clients and horses are watched thoroughly to ensure safety. We also use an individual approach where clients work exclusively with their therapist and a horse. This approach uses both ground exercises and horseback riding.  It is believed when a person can "see, touch and feel" the problem, that the core of the issue can be worked through more effectively and the tools learned in sessions have long term healing effects.
